GOV. PERRY APPOINTS BOB PEARSON TO GOVERNOR'S EMERGING TECHNOLOGY ADVISORY COMMITTEE

Gov. Rick Perry, R-Texas, announced the following appointment:

Gov. Rick Perry has announced the appointment of Bob Pearson of Austin to the Texas Emerging Technology Council. The committee shall make recommendations to the Governor, Lieutenant Governor and Speaker of the House for the award of money from the fund as provided by this chapter.

Pearson is the vice president of corporate communications at Dell, and serves on the board of directors of the Dell Foundation. He is the former head of corporate communications at Novartis and past president of the GCI Group. He is an honorary board member of the Huntington's Disease Society of America, and a past member of the board of trustees of Cancer Care. As part of a team, Pearson has earned several Silver Anvils, which recognize complete programs incorporating sound research, planning, execution and evaluation. They must meet the highest standards of performance in the profession.

Pearson received a bachelor's degree from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and a master's degree from Fairleigh Dickinson University.
