Tekes has strongly encouraged the formation of policy implications and strategic initiatives for the biotechnology sector of Finland.

Canadian Trends in Biotechnology

This report is a compilation of the main Canadian statistics on biotechnology. It provides a picture of the major Canadian trends in biotechnology since 1997 in three main areas. Chapter 1 covers the federal government’s scientific and technological activities in the field of biotechnology. Chapter 2 describes the characteristics of Canadian firms that are innovating in this field. Chapter 3 makes comparisons between Canada and other countries of the OECD.

Governors Life Sciences Consortium Report

The report, which outlines a strategy for leveraging current assets and developing new opportunities, notes that Kentucky is considered to be an emerging novice state in the life sciences area, particularly in commercialization of research. The report also recommends 11 action steps across four areas for Kentucky to successfully compete and excel in the life sciences industry: research, commercialization capital, business talent and infrastructure.
