The report highlights that in the year 2000, high-tech industries employed almost 286,000 people in Washington. Utilizing multiplier effects, a total of 1,014,000 jobs were created due to technology due to technology based industries. Labor income in tech-based industries averaged $61,330 compared to a state average of $32,748.
