Scientists at Oregon State University earned over $206 million in research contracts and grants last year, while licensing income from technology transfer efforts brought in $2.5 million, increasing from $2.13 million last year, the university said Thursday.
The increase in licensing income is due to increased sales of a new wood adhesive and specialty varieties of wheat and potatoes and the development of a mold yeast inhibitor.
The university spent a total of $191 million on research projects this year.
The College of Agriculture Sciences earned $33.6 million in research support, while the College of Oceanic and Atmospheric Sciences earned $30.2 million.
In addition, the College of Engineering took in $17.6 million, the College of Science took in $15.8 million, and health-related research took in $18 million.
