This report is a concise summary of the presentations, discussions and main conclusions of the first MLP workshop on regional profiles and growth poles. The workshop was attended by some 50 practitioners and officials representing regional authorities, specialised regional agencies, experts as well as representatives of the European Commission.
This study examines the residential choice of couples in which both spouses have higher education degree. The aim of this study is to find out where these couples live. In addition, families with different educational backgrounds are compared. The comparison might tell about the reasons of a family’s residential choice. Micro level data is used in empirical analysis.

Four new indicators have been added to this annual report. They include two in the Manufacturing/Maquiladora section and two in the Quality of Life section. The report is an attempt to monitor developments in an emerging binational region.
The purpose of the Regional Economic Indicators is to help policy and decision-makers understand and monitor economic changes in the Arizona-Sonora Region and to support policies that promote economic transformation, investment and entrepreneurship in the Region. Several indicators are based on new, revised data as these became available, including Sonora’s exports, and shipments of agricultural products from Mexico through border ports of entry.
