Gov. Minner pledges active agenda for final year
DATELINE: DOVER Del.
Gov. Ruth Ann Minner is staying tight-lipped about her agenda for her final year in office, but she says she will stay active until the last day of her term.
She says she'll be focusing on education, economic development and the environment during 2008. While she says she wants to avoid tax or fee increases, she says the decisions will depend on fluctuating revenue forecasts.
Meanwhile, Senate Minority Leader Senator Charles Copeland claims the administration hasn't addressed serious problems, such as the shortfall in the transportation trust fund and the costs of prison construction. He says he fears the governor and Democratic lawmakers want to postpone action until 2009.
