Greenhouse names three executives in residence
The Pittsburgh Life Sciences Greenhouse on Wednesday named three new executives in Residence -- Harold Safferstein, Samuel Straface and David Weaver.
Executives in residence work directly with startup life sciences companies to help them develop business plans.
Safferstein had previously served as vice president of business development at Omrix Biopharmaceuticals, while Straface was the founding president and CEO of Triton BioSystems Inc., a nanobiotechnology company, and has worked in global sales, marketing, and medical R&D at Boston Scientific Corporation and Johnson & Johnson.
Weaver, who has worked at Johnson & Johnson and Warner-Lambert and is the founder and president of Great Lakes Angels, will provide guidance on raising venture capital and building relationships within the VC and angel investment communities.
The South Oakland-based Greenhouse, which invests in and supports life sciences companies in southwestern Pennsylvania, has invested $7.5 million in 40 companies.
