Ind., Ohio lead health ventures
Indiana and Ohio lead the Midwest in attracting new venture capital to health care startups, according to BioEnterprise.
The Northeast Ohio economic development group's quarterly report on the subject found 43 Midwest companies shared $324 million in the first quarter of 2007.
That's nearly double last year's pace and a sign of ``strong and continuing growth in future years,'' said BioEnterprise president Baiju Shah.
Indiana topped the analysis of 10 states, with $94.5 million of investments to four health care ventures. Ohio was second with 15 ventures raising $93.9 million.
