Israel's ex-minister of science and technology offered to lead Kazakhstan's Innovative Fund

Israel's ex-minister of science and technology Eliezer Sandberg is offered to chair the board of directors in Kazakhstan's State Innovative Fund, Kairat Kelimbetov, the head of Kazyna Fund, said at a press conference in Almaty on Wednesday.
The conference was organized on the occasion of the 3rd Innovation Congress of Kazakhstan.
According to Kelimbetov, JSC Sustainable Development Fund Kazyna and Shell Kazakhstan signed a cooperation agreement at the congress.
JSC National Innovative Fund was organized in May 2003 and is wholly owned by the state. The fund is to enhance the innovative activities and organize high technology and knowledge-intensive production processes in Kazakhstan.
Kazyna State Fund was organized in March 2006 as a managing company aimed to diversify Kazakhstan's economy by coordinating the activities carried out by the national institutes of development and implementing investment projects in the non-primary sector of the economy.
The Fund currently includes seven institutes of development in Kazakhstan: the state bank of development, the investment and innovation funds, the state corporation for insurance of export loans and investments, the fund for development of small-sized entrepreneurship, the center of marketing and analytical research and Kazinvest company.
