Kauffman teams with government for entrepreneurship
The Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation will team up with the federal government on a new Web site to encourage U.S.-style entrepreneurism worldwide.
The Kauffman Foundation announced Wednesday a public-private partnership with the U.S. Commerce Department's International Trade Administration to bring together information on entrepreneurship. A new Web site will provide academic information on entrepreneurship and links to a range of nonprofit groups, business associations and government resources.
"Ultimately, this initiative will seek to promote economic growth, innovation and entrepreneurship, thereby expanding markets for entrepreneurs in the U.S. and abroad, and stimulating increased levels of productivity and standards of living in countries throughout the world," Kauffman Foundation CEO Carl Schramm said in a release.
The first phase of the Web site will be launched later this year. At present, the site includes preview information and the ability to get further announcements by e-mail.
The Kansas City-based Kauffman Foundation promotes entrepreneurism and initiatives aimed at improving education of children.
