Howard County names tech czar

The Howard County Economic Development Authority appointed a new technology manager to help grow the county's high-tech industry.

Larry O. Collins, previously U.S. sales manager for L-Soft International Inc., will also be the executive director of the new Howard Technology Council.

"The technology industry has seen impressive growth in Howard County," said Richard W. Story, CEO of the Howard County Economic Development Authority, in a statement. "Having Larry on board provides us with the expertise needed to keep the technology industry of Howard County moving forward."

Collins has worked as a Microsoft manager and also spent several years as a software specialist and consultant for national businesses.
