SEN. VOINOVICH TO HOST INDUSTRY EXPANSION ROUNDTABLE AT NASA GLENN
WASHINGTON, D.C. - On Monday, January 28, 2008, U.S. Senator George V. Voinovich (R-OH) will host a roundtable discussion at NASA Glenn Research Center in Cleveland. Prior to the roundtable, Sen. Voinovich will tour the Glenn Constellation flight hardware site. The tour and discussion will be open to the media.
The roundtable will discuss with the business community, local and statewide leaders a strategic plan for the aeronautics and space exploration industry for Ohio.
As part of the tour, Sen. Voinovich will visit the Ares Manufacturing Facility (AMF) at Glenn to view progress in manufacturing the Upper Stage Simulator (USS) for the Ares I-X rocket, which will be the first flight test of the new Ares I launcher, currently scheduled to fly in April 2009. He will be the first to sign a panel that will eventually be signed by all USS team members. It will eventually be attached to the inside of the USS for this historic inaugural flight.
