Deficits and Debt in the Short and Long Run

This paper begins by examining the persistence of movements in the U.S. Government’s budget posture. Deficits display considerable persistence, and debt levels (relative to GDP) even more so. The paper concludes with some reflections on “the Perverse Corollary of Stein’s Law”: that is, the view that in the presence of large government deficits nothing need be done because something will be done.

New approach to the Research of GDP and Income Inequality Based on the Old and Enlarged EU with a Comparative Analysis of the USA Data

In this paper, the author presents an original approach to the determination of the equilibrium trajectory of some dynamic processes in socio-economic systems and the level of inequality for such structures. The mutually related algorithms allow new possibilities for a different point of view in the comparative analysis of internal dynamics for a large class of different structures.
